Trip Indroduction

Nirmal Pokhari Hike is always a good idea for your vacation in Nepal because it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller. Nirmal Pokhari Hike is an alternative hiking destination for those seeking a moment outside the city with fewer visitors, but with great views of nature and good food. It is also for this reason the village site is blooming to practice outdoor meditation. The village is about 10 kilometers south from Pokhara at an altitude of 1450m. The view of Pokhara valley along with rivers and lakes at the foothills of the extensive Himalayan range is a scenic beauty from Nirmal Pokhari. All three lakes of Pokhara: Rupa Tal, Begnas Tal, and Fewa Tal can be spotted from the top. Villages of nearby districts, including Syangja, are also visible from the viewpoint of Nirmal Pokhari.

Hiking to Nirmal Pokhari begins from the point near Gupteshwor cave, which is just 10 minutes drive from Lakeside of Pokhara. On the way, there are beautiful scenes of villages and deep rivers gorges over the ridge. The scenic table like cliffs reminds us of the great Tibetan plateau, instead, it is much greener. The trail crosses rivers over bridges, passes paddy rice fields, and goes through the green forest on off-beat tracks. The trip ends at Dobilla or Dhungesaun which lies on the way to Kristi village. Other option to reach Nirmal Pokhari Village in Pokhara includes taking a local bus service that runs every 2 hours. There are also taxi services or jeeps to hire to reach the village.

Nirmal Pokhari village is well known for the family-run orange and coffee farms. The locals also grow rice, millets, wheat, corn, and varieties of vegetables throughout the year. The food here is organic, directly harvested from their farms and gardens. Visitors can experience the daily lifestyle of villagers doing household chores or working in the farms during the Homestay program in Nirmal Pokhari.

Himalayan Monk organizes different packages under hiking in Nepal which are Bandipur Hike, Peace Stupa Day Hike,  Pokhara-Dhampus-Sarangkot Hike including Nirmal Pokhari Hike near Pokhara City. Himalayan Monk Travels & Treks is always with you to prepare you for any challenges and will accompany you throughout your trekking in Nepal.

Winters and summer have a hazy atmosphere and monsoon clouds obstruct the view. So, it is not suitable for these seasons.

Day 1: Pokhara to Nirmal Pokhari (1450m; 6 hrs)

We drive from the Lakeside of Pokhara to Davis fall and tour the place. Ahead of the fall, we also tour Gupteshwor cave that makes its way under the Sidhartha highway. We start hiking nearby the cave and cross rivers, cultivated farmlands and walk the path through the lush green forest.  The sunset, as well as the sunrise view, is beautiful from the village. In the evening you can interact with the locals and get to know their culture and lifestyle. You have dinner on full board in the house.

Day 2: Tour Nirmal Pokhari farms. Return to Pokhara.

We move to the view tower early in the morning to view the sunrise over the mountains. You can see entire Pokhara valley with its lakes and soaring Himalayan Mountains including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhare, Lamjung, Ganesh and Manaslu. We also hike to different ridges of the mountain to view different villages in different landscapes. You can check the family farms of oranges and coffee beans in the village. You can also hike one more hour to reach a Tibetan village called Tashi Ling. There are a gompa and souvenir shops. We return to Pokhara on the same trail, or take a local bus, or hire a private vehicle.
