Trip Indroduction

Kathmandu Valley Tour includes three major cities- Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur. These three sister cities date back to ancient times. On our Kathmandu valley tour, we will explore the historical sites of these places which are all listed by UNESCO as the world heritage sites.  The valley holds the record of containing densest world heritage sites: 7 heritage sites within the radius of 15 km. Himalayan Monk offers different tour packages in Nepal like Bardia National Park Tour, Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour, Kathmandu-Pokhara Tour, Kathmandu-Chitwan-Lumbini Tour including Kathmandu Valley Tour.

In Kathmandu City Tour, we tour all three Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur. These sites are also known as the live cultural museum of Nepal. When we are in Bhaktapur we will visit the Changunarayan temple, the oldest cultural heritage of Nepal which dates back to the 5th century. It lies on a hillock to the east of Kathmandu valley which is surrounded by a dense forest. Similarly, in Patan, we visit the historical villages: Bungamati and Khokana. The culture and tradition of the ancient villages here will surely amaze you. In Kathmandu, there is the most worshipped Hindu temple of Nepal, the Pashupatinath temple, where Hindu devotees from all around the world come to worship Lord Shiva. You can also watch the cremation ceremony of the deceased by the bank of the river Bagmati inside the temple premise. Next, we visit the Buddhist stupa of Swayambhunath with looking eyes. We have to climb about 365 steps to reach the stupa located on the top of a hill in the west of Kathmandu.  The view of Kathmandu city from the top of the hill is a wonderful maze. Another well-known stupa is the mandala styled Boudhanath. The surrounding of this stupa has a very spiritual aura with many people pass by, just taking a stroll watching the mesmerizing idol or chanting their prayers around the stupa.

Kathmandu valley tour is special as it brings out the actual taste of the place, such that even the ‘father of the nation’, King Prithvi Narayan Shah, captivated by its significance and beauty, declared it as the capital of the nation and his then residence. Since then the valley has flourished as a cultural city of the country. Kathmandu Tour is always a good idea for your vacation in Nepal because it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.

Himalayan Monk Travels & Treks is glad to operate Kathmandu Tour for you to make it your life experience. Except for some days, most of the days are warm with pleasant breeze and occasional summer showers between April and May. From late June to August, the valley experiences monsoon season with continuous rainfall that could hamper your tour. Later, around the month of October and November, the weather is very good and the valley is also fairly less populated as people return to their home towns to celebrate the awaited Dashain festival. On the other hand, there may be less facility and services in hotels and lodges with low manpower. Winter is much chillier in Kathmandu valley even if it has sunny days and requires proper outfit to protect against the cold.
