Trip Indroduction

Mardi Himal Trek is always a good idea for your vacation in Nepal because it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller. Mardi Himal Trekking is a short and easy trek in Annapurna Region which has gained popularity recently. It is located to the east of one of the already popular trekking destinations of Nepal, the Annapurna base camp. This short trek route is no less and provides with all the spectacular view of nature. The trail stretches through the winding paths, beautiful rhododendron forests and through rocky to snow-clad mountains. The undulated trail is a challenge of worth, for it rewards you with the heavenly gratitude of nature through its mesmerizing and dramatic view of landscapes. Also, there is the equal contribution of the friendly locals to make your journey as much fun and as memorable as possible.

Throughout the trail, there are many rest houses and appreciative homestay services. You can enjoy your tea and rest under the scenic view of the gorgeous, gigantic Machapuchhare (also known as ‘Fish Tail’) soaring through the sky in the flat land of the low camp. But the most prominent feature of Mardi Base Camp Trek begins at the High Camp (3580m) from where you can view the entire Annapurna range in a panorama setting. It is also considered the best viewpoint to watch both the sunset and sunrise.  From here, a hike for about 2-3 hours up the steep mountain, you arrive at the first viewpoint of Mardi Himal base camp from where you can get an excellent view of the Mardi Himal, Annapurna (South), Himchuli and Machapuchhare. Mardi Himal trek is special, as, further to the upper viewpoint, you can also get the glimpse of the same peaks as seen from the Annapurna Base Camp. It does not end here; just about 200m upward, an estimated 1-hour climb while saving your nose through the steep rocky mountain, is the destined Mardi Himal Basecamp. All above the high rising mountains and floating clouds, it wouldn’t be wrong to feel like the conqueror up there.

After you fill your soul with the tranquility of the place, the journey continues downhill. Descending from the calm and silent atmosphere of the mountains to the lively villages gives you the feeling of coming back to reality. Nevertheless, moments are still captured as you mingle with the locals in the countryside and get traditional. You will get the epiphany that the adventurous journey has suddenly turned into a cultural insight tour as you get into their groove. Furthermore, nature continues to entice you with all the scenic beauty of the valleys, waterfalls and unending mountain ranges. The different perspective of trekking i.e, Mardi Himal Yoga and Meditation Trekking is also organized by Himalayan Monk Treks and Tours.

Himalayan Monk Treks & Tours is glad to operate this trek for you to make it your life experience. It is safe and highly recommended. Remember us for Mardi Himal Tea House Trek and other major Trekking in Nepal.

We will stay at the Taleju Boutiques hotel, a trending luxury hotel in the peaceful vicinity of Thamel that exudes the traditional Nepali culture, mostly architecture blended with the modern amenities. Whereas, The Mardi Himal trek is an untouched trail, and does not have many lavish rooms. The tea houses and guest houses provide simple rooms with necessary comforts. Most of the tea houses at lower elevations have the western type sitting toilets, but as you elevate through the trek, the houses are more traditional types with squatting toilets, mostly placed outside the room.

Meals

The hotels in the city provide both authentic Nepali cuisine and international cuisines (continental, Italian, Tibetan, Indian, etc). There are also various types of restaurants and hotels that you can find all over the city to explore your liking. Whereas, the lodges and tea houses in the countryside provide simple and traditional dishes. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided from the tea house or the lodge during the trek but while in the city hotel, only breakfast will be provided.

Travel season

The time between September to November and March to May is the best season for this trek. The weather during these periods is warm with clear perspective views. During the winter, though the temperature is much lower, it is good too to enjoy the environment in isolation. But during the monsoon i.e. between June to August, the trek could be a disaster for many.

In the evening, stay the night in one of the local lodges.

You can rest in the Kathmandu hotel or take a stroll around to enjoy the nightlife of Kathmandu.

Day 10: Free day in Kathmandu & Departure.
