Yoga training includes invigorating mantra chanting, meditation, and spiritual philosophies.  In no time you will feel your body as light as a feather after the adaptation that you make with the routine. The yoga trek through the pristine forests, magnificent valleys, and grand Himalayan Mountains inspire you to further the spiritual awakening that you have experienced. Mardi Yoga Trek is always a good idea for your vacation in Nepal because it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.

The Mardi Himal Yoga trek-route is just to the east of Annapurna Base Camp that falls under Annapurna Region Trek. The trail varies from beautiful rhododendron forests, tranquil valleys and mountains, rocky mountain terrain and breathtaking, high rising Himalayan Mountain peaks. Some of the amazing mountains you can view through the trek are Mardi Himal, Machapuchhare, Annapurna South and Himchuli. Throughout the trail of  Yoga Retreats in Nepal, you can view the gorgeous snow-capped mountains above the hills and valleys and the view becomes clearer as you reach higher elevations. From the High camp (3580m) you can get a panoramic view of all the Himalayan mountain ranges.

Accomodation

Great food and comfortable sleep is a must to stay healthy for trekkers. We have ideal accommodation plans in both the city as well as while we are on treks. We will stay at the Taleju Boutiques hotel, a trending luxury hotel in the peaceful vicinity of Thamel that exudes the traditional Nepali culture, mostly architecture blended with the modern amenities. Whereas, The Mardi Himal trek is an untouched trail, and does not have many lavish rooms. The tea houses and guest houses provide simple rooms with necessary comforts. Most of the tea houses at lower elevations have the western type sitting toilets, but as you elevate through the trek, the houses are more traditional types with squatting toilets, mostly placed outside the room.

Meals

The hotels in the city provide both authentic Nepali cuisine and international cuisines (continental, Italian, Tibetan, Indian, etc). There are also various types of restaurants and hotels that you can find all over the city to explore your liking. Whereas, the lodges and tea houses in the countryside provide simple and traditional dishes. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided from the tea house or the lodge during the trek but while in the city hotel, only breakfast will be provided.

Since this is a yoga trek, you will be provided with healthy, organic vegetarian food prepared well under the watchful eyes of our guides.  The vegetarian food is encouraged during the yoga practice because eating meat is considered ahimsa or committing violence, which then negatively affects the energy of the body and inhibits the body from achieving the deep state of meditation.

Travel season

The time between September to November and March to May is the best season for this trek. The weather during these periods is warm with clear perspective views. During the winter, though the temperature is much lower, it is good too to enjoy the environment in isolation. But during the monsoon i.e. between June to August, the trek could be a disaster for many.

Day 1: Arrive in Pokhara (820m)

You will be picked up either from the Bus station/airport or your hotel/accommodation.  We drive through the highway with interesting scenes of countryside villages, rivers, and green hills. We arrive in the exciting city of Pokhara and rest for a while in the hotel. You can explore the lakeside in the evening which is similar to Thamel of Kathmandu. The Fewa lake makes the Lakeside more joyous place to visit.

Day 2: Drive to Kande and trek to Deurali (1900m; 4 hrs)

Early morning after breakfast we drive to Kande from Pokhara, and then trek from Kande to Pothana.  We have lunch in Pothana and then followed by interaction with our yoga gurus on spiritual and yogic essence. We continue the trek till Deurali and check into a guest house where we stay for the night.  The evening time (5-6pm) is also used for practicing meditation and mantra chanting with the help of our yoga guru.

Day 3: Trek to low camp (3035m; 3 hrs)

We begin the day with a classical yoga session. Breakfast is at 7:30 am after which we start the trek through the mesmerizing forest and trails with a grand view of mountains. We have lunch at Forest camp followed by a yoga session. There is a ‘question and answer’ session with our yoga guru. Then we continue our trek to low camp. The evening session starts at 5 pm with a spiritual philosophy and some guided meditation. We have dinner at 7:30 pm and then we rest for the day.

Day 4: Trek to High camp (3550m; 2hrs)

The morning session is a classical yoga practice. After breakfast, we head to Badal dada with magnificent views of snow capped mountains over the clouds. After lunch here we have a spiritual discussion with the guru. Then we trek to the High camp. The high camp has more fascinating views of the Himalayan mountain ranges. The evening session consists of Yoga Nidra (sleep) and guided meditation. We have dinner and stay the night in the High Camp.

Day 5: Hike to the Upper viewpoint and return to Badal Dada (3100m; 2hrs)

We hike early in the morning to the Upper viewpoint to get the best view of sunrise and the surrounding mountains. We practice our classical yoga session amidst the heavenly place and have our packed breakfast from the guest house. Around 9 am we return to high camp and reach there by lunchtime. After lunch, there is, as usual, a discussion session with the yoga guru. We trek back to Badal dada and rest there. The evening session has yoga philosophies and guided meditation and dinner right after.

Day 6: Trek to Siding village and drive back to Pokhara.

It is the final day of this trek and we wake up early at 5 along with the sunrise for the classical yoga and mesmerizing view of the surroundings. We have breakfast and then trek to Siding village. We have a final ‘question and answer’ session after lunch. Then we drive to Pokhara on a jeep and check into a hotel. You can stroll around the lakeside in the evening or visit some interesting places in Pokhara.

Day 7: Departure from Pokhara

We enjoy the fine morning in Pokhara after the wonderful yoga trek. We depart from Pokhara being enlightened with the yogic knowledge and beautiful memories of the trek. We return through the same highway that is guided by the blue rivers and green hills. In the evening, you can also stroll around Thamel and look around the shops to take some souvenirs.
